Valentín Perrone, the Argentine rider, has successfully completed his participation in the first qualification of the Moto3 World Championship at the Buriram circuit. Despite not improving his time on the last lap, he finished in seventh place, without advancing to Q2. However, he showed progress compared to previous practices, and his team praised his meticulous work.
In this first competition, Italian Matteo Bertelle achieved pole position with a time of 1m40s400, followed by his compatriots Stefano Nepa and Spanish José Antonio Rueda in the first row of the grid. The race, which will consist of 19 laps, sets as a goal for Perrone to complete it in order to gain confidence in the competitive rhythm.
The challenge for Perrone will be running on unknown circuits, given that the first dates of the 2025 World Championship will take place in Thailand, Argentina, the United States, and Qatar. His debut is scheduled for next Sunday at 02:00 (Argentina time), with hopes of taking a significant first step in the category.
During the qualification, Perrone did not suffer any falls or setbacks, achieving his goal of gaining experience on a track he was unfamiliar with. He will start from the twenty-first position in the Thai Grand Prix, after having a good performance in Q1, getting as high as third after his first attempt with a time of 1m41s715.
